Elbit was tracking asset information using a proprietary system using an Oracle database as their data repository. Elbit is currently using Salesforce to handle customer service requests, which include inquiries regarding assets that are also maintained within Salesforce. Elbit personnel had to enter data into both the Oracle asset management system and into Salesforce in order to maintain the data up to date. This manual double entry has not only taken considerable amount of time, but also caused asset data to contain errors do to mistypes between one system and another.
Intellect International USA (IIUSA) recommended implementing a process that would gather asset information updates from an Oracle staging table and send them to Salesforce on a scheduled interval. New assets are created and existing assets are updated with modified information. There are several checks within the process that notify Elbit of data issues.
All asset data is now entered via the Oracle asset management system and synchronized to Salesforce. This has reduced man hours from a data entry, data cleansing, and customer service inquiries perspective. The built in data validity checks allow Elbit personnel an easy way to identify data which was either entered incorrectly into the asset management system or accounts or products that need to be added to Salesforce to accommodate new inventory items.
Automated a process which previously consumed 120 manual hours per year. This equates to a cost savings of $12,000 or an ROI of 175% YOY
Implemented a low-cost, low-maintenance integration solution which can be monitored from any geographic location via a web-based dashboard
